Spooky Fun in Santa Clara for Halloween 2018

halloween

The fall season and Halloween bring all kinds of fun, and some of that fun can even be found in your own home! Halloween parties for your friends and families with all the kids or even adults-only Halloween parties can be a great way to have some fall fun!

There are all kinds of DIY decorations you can make to throw a party on the cheap. Not to mention tons of very cute and very delicious Halloween appetizers, desserts, and other treats for your spooktacular theme. The atmosphere can be heightened by playing scary movies on the TV, but keep them on mute so you can have a Halloween themed playlist playing in the background that’s chock-full of famous Halloween movie scores.

There are 30 other days in October other than Halloween and those too can be filled with fun Halloween themed outings. We’ve made a list of some of the must-visit places for Halloween 2018— we don’t want you to miss a thing!

California’s Great America Haunt

This is definitely not a Halloween experience that is for the faint of heart! California’s Great America is turned into a terrifying theme park! You’ll see all the favorites you know throughout the year, but they’ve added haunted areas that will truly have you fearing for your life. You can visit Backwoods, a deserted resort and spa where you’ll enter as a hunter looking for illegal game… until you become the hunted.

Cornstalkers is a corn maze full of haunted farm machinery and people of the corn intent on trapping you forever. Chaos House is a maze of mirrors, glass walls, and endless fog you’ll have to navigate through while looking for the faceless creatures that will come out of nowhere. There is also Jester Town, Madame Marie’s Blackout, Tooth Fairy, Roadkill Roadhouse, Wax Museum Chamber of Horrors, and Zombie High.

Haunt is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through October– the calendar can be seen here. They have student days for discounted tickets for anyone with a student ID as well. Go check it out if you dare!

Apocalypse

If you’re looking for a scare so intense that only people 18 and up are allowed, Apocalypse is a night you don’t want to miss. For one night only, at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in the Fiesta Hall, you can experience a real Halloween treat… or can you?

The party starts at 10 pm and ends at 1:30 am. Costumes are included and there will be prizes. You can book your tickets for this hauntingly fun night here.

Halloween Dance & Costume Party

A not so scary, but just as fun event, the Halloween Dance & Costume party at the Aloft Hotel in West San Jose is a 21 and up Halloween party with a costume contest! You’re automatically entered if you show up in costume before 9:30.

The event starts at 7 and DJ Jammin’ Jeff will mix it up starting at 8. There is a full bar and all kinds of photo ops and fun decorations! Bring a group, come to meet some people, but most importantly have fun with your costume! Get your tickets for this October 27th event here.

Mommy & Me Halloween Family Fun Fest

Looking for something not so scary and a little more family friendly? This is your Halloween jam! Especially for little ones not in school yet who might not be trick or treating on Halloween night, this is a great way to celebrate in costume.

On October 30th from 10 am to noon at Park Valencia, your little ones can participate in educational and interactive games and activities. There is also trick or treating and arts and crafts! Face painting and pumpkin decorating are just a couple of the things you and your little ones can participate in! Check out more info for this fun event here!

Deer Hollow Farm’s Spooky Times

Another family-friendly event geared toward all ages is Deer Hollow Farm’s Spooky Times. This year’s Spooky event takes place on October 27th from 10 am to 3 pm. Come in costume, admission is $7 for adults and $5 for kids. If you have really tiny ones under the age of one, they are free! There is a haunted barn and a “dark forest” to explore.

Kids can enjoy arts and crafts and the farm animals to pet. There are treats and drinks and merchandise all available for purchase as well. The whole family will love this event, go to the Deer Hollow website for more info!
